GENERAL COACHES INFORMATION
Below is a tournament information package including: round-robin and playoff format, team requirements, sponsor information, and other general information.

There will be a coaches meeting on the field on Saturday at 11:00 am. Breakfast will be available at the concession at 9:30 am. The first games will get under way at 11:30 am sharp.

There will be 8 divisions consisting of 4 teams each. Each team will play 3 round-robin games within the division and then advance to either the championship or consolation round playoffs on Sunday. The top 16 teams will advance to the championship round while remaining 16 will advance to the consolation round.

Each team will be asked to provide the following:

  • Both home and away jerseys (if possible).
  • A numerical roster (to be used by PA announcer and All-Star committee)
  • All practice and game balls.
  • Completed liability release forms
  • Athletic tape
** It is recommended that all participating athletes wear a protective mouth guard **

* All teams will be asked to provide one coach to assist with officiating two games.

At the conclusion of each game, the head coaches will be asked to select the top offensive and defensive players for their opponents to assist with All-star selections.

There will be certified athletic trainers on site to treat injuries. They will not provide preventative taping.

We would encourage all teams to attend the awards ceremony that takes place immediately following the championship game on Sunday. Trophies and prizes (courtesy of Big Kahuna Sports and Adidas) will be given to the top three teams, ten All-stars (5 offensive, 5 defensive) including offensive and defensive MVP's.

There will be plenty of activity throughout the day including special appearances from BC Lions and NCAA players, along with giveaways, prize draws, concessions, sponsor displays, cheerleaders and much more.

Please keep in mind that the Burnaby Lake Sports Complex is a multi-use facility, so there will be other groups in the park including soccer, baseball, and joggers. It is important that we respect their activities, and not monopolize the facility.
